I was talking to Glen Wilson (my Commonwealth Games gold medal winning
doubles partner) about stringing squash rackets. He gave me this list
of tips:
- Don't buy the cheapest strings as they won't last.
Look to spend a little more to ensure you get a little more playability
and durability.
- Don't buy a string that has a thin gauge. Look for anything upwards of 1.20 mm but no more than 135mm.
- Get
your racket strung around 27-28 lbs. Any tighter and they won't last as
long; any looser you won't get as much feel and the strings will start
to move all around the racket head.
